The Bob Doyle mural in Dublin.

A mural of Irish International Brigade veteran Bob Doyle and a plaque remembering the Irishmen who volunteered to fight in Spain was dedicated last weekend as part of the 21st anniversary of the Anti-Fascist Action in Dublin.  Doyle, who died three years ago, fought with the Connolly Column in Spain as well as with the IRA against the Irish fascist Blueshirt movement.

The Bob Doyle mural is located at The Cobblestone Bar in Stoneybatter, north Dublin City.

    Hi,
Just to sadly say that the mural to Bob has been painted over. No idea what the circumstances are…but I’m guessing “The Gathering” mentality and the kow-towing to the NeoCons is probably a factor.
    Sorry!
    Michael.
