Gail Dolgin, the associate producer of the Oscar-nominated documentary Forever Activists: Stories of Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, directed by ALBA board member Judy Montell, has died, the Oakland Tribune reports:

Dolgin was a longtime board member of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, a proposal reviewer for the Berkeley Film Foundation, and a panelist for ITVS, evaluating proposals from around the world submitted by filmmakers bidding for funding. She was interested in music, meditation, and attending film festivals. “She was an incredibly openhearted person. She listened to everybody really closely. She was really interested in connecting with people,” her daughter said. “Even up to the last day, she made a strong connection with a hospice care worker. She really knew how to look into someone’s eyes and see beyond their face and see who they were.”
