The Vatican will consider taking punitive actions against bishop Fernando María Bargalló after videos and photographs showing him embracing a woman and displaying flirtatious behavior were distributed by various argentine media outlets. Despite the photographic content, Bargalló insisted that the woman he had been seen with was a childhood friend, reported elpais.com. In a public statement on the television channel A24, the bishop apologized for his imprudence and the ambiguity of the content. Given that the photographs were taken in January of 2011, it is curious as to why this issue is being publicized now. Regardless, the Vatican may rule it necessary for Bargalló to resign his position.
