Donna Brennan and Arya F. Jenkins, of AllReel Media, have kindly shared a 10-minute video compilation of “Songs for the Cause,” the benefit concert held this past October 16 at the Museum of the City of New York, with Pete Seeger, Patti Smith, and Guy Davis. The compilation includes selections of the speeches given by Matti Mattson and Maynard Goldstein, who passed away earlier this month.

Salud was a term meant to sustitute for “Adios”. Communists never liked any mention of Dios (God). When i see Pete Seeger I know what this is about. My parents left Spain before the Spanish Civil War for the US.They returned ,like thousands of others in the sixties. There had been universal health care since the mid forties. You could leave the country to earn higher wages in Germany or Switzerland and as soon as they had enough money people returned while the same government was there. Would people have returned to a communist country? Why did Spain,s gold reserves end up in the Soviet Union?
    Adios,Joe.
